Places and people are connected by invisible networks. As Plato says in the Simposio we are only weak creatures in search of our original half. Sometimes this research and these connections keep us alive, make us struggle, think, reassure or run away.
Once we find the other half we cling to it and we forget everything, even eating and drinking, trying in vain to rebuild the original unity. My network is wide and my life runs on the tracks of these bonds.
The door is a unit used as a double. It represents the duality and antithesis of separation and communication. It identificates the physical space that delimits two different places: Munster, Germany and Porto, Portugal in this case. It is even a passage between two levels: the known and the unknown, the profane and the sacred, the trust and the jealousy, the fear and the courage. Eventually connections sublimate the feelings more in detachment than in proximity.

The house has always had a multiplicity of meanings that go far beyond the idea of a physical place. Before being a place, it is a space that we carry within. It manifests us, for this reason it can be consider abstract and the idea of it is defenitely subjective. It is the narration of one’s own story. I started my research from the stereotyped occidental form of the house and I reached to give it the shape of a bag: home is the rapresentation of the self, wherever we go we need to find a home. It is not stationary, not merely for the 3,3% of the mondial population that are immigrants but also for all the rest of the population. Mostly we find it where we feel loved and often we associate it to a person or a special enviroment in whitch we feel beloved.
